This is a game somewhat akin to driving faster than you can see in a thick fog; everything is fine until it isn't. You can't see the problem and what you want is to get wherever "there" is quickly. After a short period where nothing appears in front of you it's easy to assume the course will remain clear. Which would be fine if the rest of us weren't forced to be passengers.
No more Fox "news" clips for me; I swore off on 'em long ago. They're worse than concussions. If I want to be sick I'll watch Red Sox highlights.

Metaphors underlie all factual descriptions while stories frame them. Ancient peoples did not go underground at Lascaux, gather by fire light and in temples to hear facts recitated. They went because telling stories gives meaning and direction to human lives. (Fox) News Corporation understands this and provides reassuring stories which their viewers (and masters) crave.
